Job Summary
NurseCare One is a healthcare staffing company (not a home health agency) currently building a roster of licensed and certified professionals for upcoming temporary and per-diem contracts throughout South Florida.
This posting is intended for clinicians interested in being considered for future contract-based assignments as they become available.
We are seeking dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for Per Diem Healthcare Staffing (1099). This role offers flexible scheduling to meet the needs of various healthcare facilities, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, and outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of clinical skills and experience in diverse settings such as critical care, long-term care, hospice, and emergency medicine. You will provide high-quality patient care, perform assessments, administer medications and treatments, and support patient comfort and safety across multiple healthcare environments. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical histories.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform catheterizations following established protocols.
- Monitor patients’ conditions closely in various settings such as ICU, emergency room, or long-term care facilities.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations including specimen collection, processing, and basic medical imaging procedures.
- Manage airway maintenance and ventilator support for critically ill patients.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Support discharge planning and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide specialized care such as dementia management, Alzheimer’s care, pain management, and behavioral health support.
- Educate patients and families on health coaching topics including nutrition, medication administration, and post-acute care instructions.
- Adhere to infection control practices and aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures like suturing or spinal taps.
- Respond effectively to urgent situations in emergency medicine or Level I Trauma Center environments.
Qualifications
- Valid LPN license in the state of practice with current CPR/BLS certification.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical settings such as ICU, emergency room, medical-surgical units, geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator), or home & community care.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Ability to perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, IV insertion/infusion therapy including advanced skills like PICU or OR experience preferred.
- Strong assessment skills with the ability to recognize acute changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
- Excellent communication skills for working with patients with disabilities or developmental delays as well as family members.
- Flexibility to work various shifts across different healthcare environments; prior experience in hospice care or infectious disease management is a plus.
